Taking off the training wheels…

Today I took my daughter and son to try riding their bikes without training wheels. I had no idea how they would do but I figured at least one of them would have some success. Turns out that they both learned within 15 minutes even though they are two years apart (6 and 4). Then I started thinking, “Why the heck didn’t I do this before, what was I waiting for”? Obviously, they were ready for it and probably never even thought about the concept of not having training wheels.

Then I wondered; as adults, what “training wheels” do we still have attached that we are unaware of? What’s keeping you from jumping ramps, riding wheelies, or taking risks?

So, the next time you are on your bike, take a look behind and see how many wheels you’ve got back there—if you see more than one, get your wrench.
